Staying Active during coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions
While we keep our distance to stop the spread of COVID-19, staying active is critical for both our physical and mental health, reducing the risk of health conditions like stroke and heart disease, controlling weight, reducing stress and anxiety and also improving sleep.
Even with Restrictions to gyms, health clubs and fitness centres we can still find ways to be ACTIVE while maintaining physical distance by going for a walk or riding a bike.
Just remember to stay home if you are unwell, keep 1.5 metres apart, avoid physical contact, and wash your hands.
We can also find something at home to keep ACTIVE such as:
Going up and down stairs
Virtual fitness classes
Zoom or Skype group lounge exercises with your friends
Our Support Workers are always happy to go for a walk with you or do some activity you may like, to help us keep moving!
We hope even though the restrictions you are finding a way to be ACTIVE there!
