The Participants Service Guarantee came into effects on 1 July 2020 to improve the people’s experience of the NDIS.
It is a set of standards for how long the NDIA should take to complete key steps in the NDIS process which will make shorter and clearer timeframes for the NDIS to tell participants whether they are eligible, finalising or reviewing their plans and also covering how the NDIA engages with them.
Will It Make Any Difference?
NDIS Participant Service Guarantee improves your experience of the NDIS.
The NDIA has always had to report on its performance every three months on the delivery of the NDIS across Australia.
They will now also have to give a detailed report to Australian governments on its performance against the NDIS Participant Service Guarantee, reporting on how much of its work has been completed within the set timeframes and to the agreed standards.
Participants now, also have a chance to have their say, as the review recommended an independent participant satisfaction survey was introduced.
